2021 SAI Student Team Introduction

This year, Student Agencies is excited to welcome yet another team of diverse, talented Cornell students to manage its portfolio of businesses. Here is a brief introduction to each of the 2020-2021 student Managers. This year the Student Agencies team will be led by incoming SAI President Charlie Lee (’22).Transitioning from his role as Chief Financial Officer, Charlie is a junior from Sydney, Australia studying finance within the Dyson School. As President, Charlie hopes to take advantage of changes caused by the pandemic to grow the businesses in 2021. When not studying or working, Charlie enjoys outdoor sports including cycling, rowing and rugby.

Our new financial analyst and 2021 Chief Financial Officer is Quinn Ackerman (‘23). Quinn is also studying Applied Economics and Management in the Dyson school and hails from Rochester, New York. Quinn is excited to gain experience in financial analysis, learn about the real estate development , and work with students from many different majors who are passionate about business. In her free time, Quinn enjoys skiing, traveling, interior design, and hanging out with her dogs.

Transitioning from his prior role as General Manager for Campus Promotions, Myles Pember (‘23) is the incoming Director of Marketing. He is a sophomore from Aspen, Colorado in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences majoring in Information Sciences. As the new Director of Marketing, Myles hopes to develop an aggressive marketing approach to capture a larger market share for each of the agencies. In his free time, Myles enjoys listening to music and grilling.

From General Manager of Hired Hands Moving Company (HHMC) to Director of Human Resources, Sam Malhotra (‘22) is a junior from Lausanne, Switzerland studying Policy Analysis and Management with a minor in Business in the School of Public Policy. He is looking forward to using his experience as an agency manager to oversee all the businesses while on the executive team. Sam is an avid reader, a passionate writer, trilingual, and a licensed EMT.

Next we will introduce our incoming General Managers. Josh Lehrman (’23), from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida will, along with his co-manager, be leading HHMC in 2021. Josh is a sophomore majoring in Policy Analysis and Management with interests in mandarin Chinese and government. As a new part of the HHMC team, Josh hopes to make lifelong friends and learn how to operate a business all while exceeding expectations. One of Josh’s hidden talents is he can do a triple hop with a jump rope.

Josh’s fellow General Manager of HHMC this year is Louis Whittle (’22), a junior from Belmont, California studying Policy Analysis and Management with a minor in Business and Applied Economics. As General Manager of HHMC, Louis is looking forward to utilizing the Cornell student population to serve the labor needs of the greater Ithaca community. In his free time, Louis enjoys cycling, reading, and spending time outside with friends.

Forming the new Campus Promotions team are General Manager Jeanelle Abou-Ezzi (’23) and Assistant Manager Bridget Mahoney (’23). Originally from Boston, MA, Jeanelle is a sophomore studying Human Biology, Health, and Society in the College of Human Ecology. As a new Manager at SAI, Jeanelle hopes to strengthen the connection between Cornell students and local businesses in the wake of the pandemic. One fun fact about Jeanelle is that she is trilingual (Arabic, French, and English)!

Bridget is a sophomore in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management from Darien, CT. As the Assistant Manager of Campus Promotions, Bridget hopes to generate new streams of revenue with innovative ideas and new client acquisitions. In her free time, Bridget loves to try new recipes, workout, and watch Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The incoming managers for Big Red Shipping and Storage (BRSS) are Alayna Thomas (‘24) and Drew Serven (‘22). Hailing from Boston, MA, Alayna is majoring in International Agriculture and Rural Development and is also interested in economics, sustainability, and health. As manager of BRSS, Alayna hopes to provide exceptional customer service and increase the business’s brand visibility through data-driven marketing strategies. Alayna enjoys traveling, hiking, rowing and photography.

Drew is a sophomore Economics major from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As General Manager of BRSS, Drew is looking to gain experience in management and strategy by providing the Cornell community with useful service. His academic interests include decision theory, environmental policy, and the economics of risky health behaviors. At Cornell, he is a member of the Heavyweight Rowing team.

Last, but certainly not least, we have the Brooke Shachoy (‘22) the General Manager of Real Estate working alongside Bernardo Hammes (‘22). Brooke is studying in the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. Brooke looks forward to being involved in various aspects of The Student Agencies Building project and to have a hands-on approach with the construction process, leasing, marketing, budgeting, and modernizing property management practices. When she isn’t at sailing practice or hard at work for SAI, Brooke enjoys running, boxing, skiing, and cooking!

Bernardo is a junior from Rye, NY studying in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations with interests in financial markets and international politics. As a new General Manager of Real Estate, Bernardo is looking forward to successfully opening the doors of The Student Agencies Building redevelopment project. A fun fact about him is that he is originally from São Paulo, Brazil!

The entire 2021 team is very excited to develop the organization further in the coming year!
