An Interview with SAI Director of Marketing Gabrielle Zacky
Gabrielle Zacky ('19), an English major, minoring in Law and Society, History, and Spanish, currently serves as the Director of Marketing for Student Agencies, Inc.
Gabrielle’s tenure at Student Agencies began the summer before her sophomore year. A few friends needed help around the office, so she began coming in and taking calls for the Hired Hands managers. By the end of the summer, she implemented an entirely new filing system still in use today. She fell in love with the work, applied for a job at SAI at the first available opportunity, and became one of two general managers for Campus Promotions.
During the following year, Gabrielle gained experience in a variety of marketing-related tasks. As the end of her original post approached, she was not yet ready for her Student Agencies career to end. As she puts it: “It was important for me to continue this incredible experience at Student Agencies, especially after discovering how far the learning curve really goes."
As the new Director of Marketing, Gabrielle oversees creation and direction of the marketing initiatives for all of SAI. She looks forward to exploring the intersection of her education and her job and applying the principles she learns in her classes (such as “Digital Marketing” and “Product Management and Marketing Insights”) to the company.
Gabrielle plans to implement a more data-driven marketing approach, analyzing key metrics of every business and honing in on areas that she feels need the most work. Through this process, she hopes to place every business one step closer to every manager’s goal – beating budget.
Gabrielle appreciates the many opportunities afforded to her by working for SAI. She gained an extensive knowledge of marketing and management – skills she believes played an integral role in securing an internship for this coming summer. She emphasized that she gained not only valuable business experience but also lasting friendships with “some of Cornell's top business-minded professionals."
